DX Point® hooks are made in Japan from medium-gauge high-carbon steel wire. They are suicide/J-style hooks, with a straight eye and an offset point, perfect for striking when the fish bites.

They are particularly effective when fishing in shallow water, if the fish are not feeding aggressively, or if you prefer to strike. Known as a "soft bite," the fish will attack the bait but will not feed actively. You can strike the bait and the chemically sharpened point will achieve a solid hook-up.
